Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a small group-based educational model where students identify and examine real life problems, then work together to solve them through inquiry. While it has been traditionally used in an onsite setting, especially in medical schools, there is a recent trend to form PBL groups online using a variety of collaborative tools.
In this webinar, we will briefly explain the basic premise of PBL, and, in particular, the FISh model (Focus, Investigate, Share) by Neranto and Uhlin. This design allows for the use of PBL in a simplified way within an open online networked learning. The presenter will also share her experience from participating in such a course environment.
